Featuring a comfortable round body for maximum control, the tip is precisely shaped into a robust hexagonal point (Hex-Point) that concentrates hammer impacts onto a single, powerful point. This unique geometry allows craftsmen to efficiently chip away large high spots—highly essential for roughing out structural stones in Dry Stone Walling (DSW), leveling the bedding surfaces of rocks for stable seating in Japanese Gardens, and bulk material removal in architectural masonry and restoration.
To match the rigorous demands of these various field applications, this collection offers two distinct carbide attachment methods. The Brass-Wrapped Type (Former "roll") features full brass brazing that acts as a cushion, significantly reducing vibrations transferred to your hand and protecting the carbide tip from intense shock.
⚠️ WARNING: This type is recommended strictly for experienced users. To prevent premature failure, you must lift the chisel slightly between each strike. Continuous dragging or exposure to lateral impacts (striking from the side) can cause the thick brass joint to fracture before the carbide itself.
Alternatively, the Embedded Type (Former "embed") is engineered for extreme durability. The tungsten carbide tip is deeply set into a pre-drilled hole in the steel body, with brass flowed into the clearance gaps for brazing. While it contains a minimal brass layer that offers slight shock absorption—meaning the impact feedback to your hand is more direct—this structural design makes the brass highly resistant to fracturing, physically preventing tip loss under harsh, demanding conditions.
