Item Description

This handcrafted [Kondo] chipping chisel features a rugged hexagonal carbide tip attached to a comfortable round steel body. Positioned at the upper end of the light-weight tier, it provides exceptional maneuverability and lower muscle fatigue, making it perfect for rhythmic, lighter chipping and precise material removal. It excels at fine-tuning contact joints for structural stability in Dry Stone Walling (DSW), executing delicate surface clearing on garden rocks in Japanese Gardens, and shaping fine details in architectural masonry.

The specialized brass-wrapped joint absorbs sharp hand shocks highly effectively, offering precise control over every blow. ⚠️ WARNING: Proper strike angles are mandatory to protect the thick brass layer. Users must lift the tool slightly between impacts; continuous dragging or side-striking lateral impacts will cause the brass joint to fracture.

Please adjust an angle in Aoto of the GC whetstone 120H according to the stone to be used before beginning to use. When using it for soft stones, such as the Shirakawa stone and an Oya stone , it is about 60 degrees. In the case of granite, it is common to adjust to an obtuse angle rather than 55 degrees.

If you are a professional, the optimal SETTO for Angle picking Chisel of this size (Diameter=22mm Carbide bits=9mm*12mm / Brass brazing) is a 1.0 kg thing. However, when there is little experience, please use SETTO lighter than this.
