A Sheath Made to Fit, Not Just to Hold

About Natural Cowhide Sheath for 200mm (7.9") SR-1, A-Type & B-Type Pruning Shears

This sheath is made from vegetable-tanned cowhide and double-stitched for durability, sized for our 200mm SR-1, A-type, and B-type pruning shears. It's cut close to the tool, so it fits snugly at first and gradually eases with use as the leather takes the shape of the shear inside it. There's no buckle or clasp; a loop of leather at the back lets you thread it onto a belt.

Tobisho sheath for A-type, B-type

This sheath is sized for 200mm models, but Tobisho has officially confirmed it can also be used with the 225mm A-type. We tested this ourselves by fitting both lengths into the same sheath side by side, shown above. The 225mm handle sits a little further out of the sheath, which we actually found made it easier to grip when reaching for it. Insertion felt marginally tighter with the 225mm than the 200mm, but not enough to call it a problem either way.

How to Care for Your Cowhide Sheath

Wipe off dirt and moisture after use, and let the sheath air dry naturally if it gets wet, away from direct heat. Vegetable-tanned leather like this darkens and softens with handling over time; that's normal wear, not damage.
