About Replacement Spring (Size 7) for Standard Pruning & Bud Shears

This spring is formed from a single length of spring steel wire, about 2 to 2.1mm in diameter, bent into one loop at the center and straightened out into two legs roughly 56mm long each, measured from the tip to the outer edge of the loop. It's a straight push-in design: no bolt needs to come out, the old spring simply unhooks and the new one presses back into place. It takes a reasonable amount of grip strength, but the mechanism itself is straightforward.

Tobisho designates this wire gauge "Size 7" (maker part no. MT-1) in its own sizing system, and it's the size used across most of the bypass and bud shear lineup: SR-1 and SR-2, the A-type (200mm and the full-body forged 185mm), the B-type (200mm and 180mm), the double-bladed pruning shears (both straight and curved blade, 200mm and 185mm), the Pruning & Bud Shears (205mm and 185mm), the Single Bevel Bud Shears (200mm and 185mm), and the Pine Needle Shears.
