Item Description

This handcrafted [Kondo] square-point chisel serves as a highly versatile standard for day-to-day stone surface leveling and fine joint refinement. With its agile 25mm body and perfectly square 8x8mm carbide profile, it cleanly slices away smaller bumps and high spots with minimal physical fatigue—perfect for tuning tight interlocking joints in Dry Stone Walling (DSW), meticulous base adjustments in Japanese Gardens, and uniform surface prep in fine architectural stonework.

The premium brass-wrapped joint provides exceptional cushioning against high-frequency vibration feedback. ⚠️ WARNING: Proper traditional handling is required to safeguard the tool. Users must distinctly lift the chisel away from the stone face between consecutive strikes; continuous dragging or exposure to side impacts will cause the brass layer to fracture.

Please adjust an angle in Aoto of the GC whetstone 120H according to the stone to be used before beginning to use. When using it for soft stones, such as the Shirakawa stone and an Oya stone , it is about 60 degrees. In the case of granite, it is common to adjust to an obtuse angle rather than 55 degrees.

If you are a professional, the optimal SETTO for Angle picking Chisel (Diameter=25mm Carbide bits=8mm*8mm) of this size is a 1.0 kg thing. However, when there is little experience, please use SETTO lighter than this.
