The [Kondo] seriYA is a traditional cylindrical stone splitting wedge system (known globally as plug and feathers) engineered for heavy-duty rock splitting through drilled holes. This specific tool is sold as a complete 3-piece set for a single hole, consisting of one tapered central driving plug and two companion semi-cylindrical side feathers. It is built to fit precisely inside a pre-drilled cylindrical hole with a matching 16mm diameter. For a smooth and successful split, it is highly recommended to deploy three or more complete seriYA sets along your intended fracture line. As the center plugs are driven down evenly with a Setto hammer, the feathers transfer massive, uniform lateral expansion pressure deep inside the stone structure. While the round drill holes leave a modern trace, the remaining plane cleaves into a beautiful, completely natural split face—making it an essential tool for bulk reduction in architectural masonry, quarry work, and major rock installations by Dry Stone Wallers (DSW) and Niwashi (gardeners). ⚠️ WARNING: Striking hardened steel tools requires mandatory use of impact-resistant safety goggles, thick leather gloves, and protective boots.
